Sell The News (sellthenews.org) is a free, ad-free US stock market news aggregator with AI analysis of retail sentiment, options positioning, and market-moving posts. This page explains where each number comes from and how often it updates.
Live coverage and articles from The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, The New York Times, Financial Times, CNBC, Reuters, and Yahoo Finance's own newsroom are collected continuously into one timeline (times in US Eastern). Each item links to the original publisher. A market-relevance filter keeps the feed on markets, the economy, and companies; long articles get an AI summary, and every item has a Chinese translation.
The r/wallstreetbets daily discussion thread is re-analyzed by an AI model after roughly every 1,500 new comments: the most mentioned tickers, the bull and bear narratives, and an overall community-atmosphere verdict. Prices quoted in the analysis come from market data (Alpaca), not from the comments. WSB DD (due-diligence) posts each get a separate deep dive: the thesis, affected tickers, a summary of the comment section, and a fact check of the post's claims.
Options chains for the most-followed tickers are refreshed about every two minutes; any other US ticker is fetched on demand. Quotes, implied volatility, and Greeks come from Alpaca's options feed; open interest comes from Cboe and is updated once per trading day.
Intraday recaps are written by AI whenever enough news has accumulated during the trading day; a daily recap follows at midnight Eastern and a weekly recap each Monday. Each recap is built only from the news collected above.
Every post on @realDonaldTrump's Truth Social account is translated and scored by AI for likely US market impact, with the tickers it may move.
All of the above is available to AI assistants through a public Model Context Protocol server at https://mcp.sellthenews.org/mcp (Streamable HTTP, no sign-up): live news, news search, per-ticker news, WSB analyses and DD posts, options data, daily and weekly recaps, and Trump posts.
Analyses on this site are generated by AI models from public sources and may contain errors. Nothing here is investment advice. News belongs to its publishers; follow the links to read the originals.
